A couple of weeks ago I was among those people who decided that it's about time to leave twitter behind and look for something else. For me leaving Twitter was relatively easy. I just had a tiny account there which just a handful of followers. In recent years I mainly used Twitter for reading, it was part of my daily reading routine and worked in combination with other news sources like RSS feeds. You might already have seen my posts on Twitter and Mastodon about my new account on substack.com. Substack.com is a website for writers to publish their works directly to their audience via mail, so it works mostly like a email newsletter. Even if my audience here is rather small I often feel the need to more directly connect and engage with my readers. So far I don't really know why people come to my blog and read a bunch of posts. It feels a bit random. With this new account I try to solve this problem and get more in touch with you as readers. As you need to register to be able to read my updates on substack.com it's also a very cosy community over there that might make me feel more free and open to publish deeper insights, cover more niche topics or show even unfinished work. At least that's what I hope will happen. read more…

It was rather hard for me to make a second, alternative list of app contenders of 2022 but my complete review of all the different apps just got way too long for just one single post. I hope you enjoy reading it anyway. Here we go. Round two. read more…

This post post and also the next one hopefully coming out in the following week will be not so much about images or photography, instead they will be more about getting and using the right apps. This time I will focus on writing apps, but expect more posts to come about other app categories as well. read more…
